No daily expense tracking. Write your own ten money rules once, then sit down for twenty minutes a month and see where the money really went. Lending, gold, chit funds, insurance, nominees and tax dates — every part of a household's money, in one book.

The starting pages once, then twelve months, a meeting every three months, and the whole year at the end.
Month names are not printed — ‘Month 1, Month 2…’. Start in any month you like.
Anyone whose money comes in, goes out, and never quite adds up by the end of the month.
Salary in, rent and EMI out, nothing left by the 25th. Now you will know where it went, every month.
Sit down together on the 1st. The quarterly family money meeting has a page of its own.
An FD, some gold, a chit fund, two policies, a loan to a friend — all in one book, in whose name and where.
Nothing to log daily. Twenty minutes once a month. Missed one? Start again next month.

By the 25th the account is nearly empty. Salary came in, rent and the EMI went out, then food delivery, a cab, a friend who needed a loan… and savings is zero again. Most people try an expense app or a diary and quit in the third week. Nobody can log every cup of coffee.
This planner never asks you to. You write your rules once a year and sit down once a month for twenty minutes. As the first page puts it: “Rules once. A close once a month. Nothing daily.”
On the 1st, one page to plan: income expected, the big costs coming up, and the one rule to watch this month. At the end of the month, the rest — with your bank and UPI list open beside you.
The book hands you no rules. It first shows what a good rule looks like — short, clear, with a number or a date in it. One of its samples: “Any purchase above ₹2,000 waits three days.” Then you write your own ten, and every month one page shows which ones held and which broke.
There are rules for hard moments too, decided in advance: when a relative asks for a loan, when someone comes home to sell a policy, when someone says ‘double your money’. You won’t have to think in the moment — you already wrote it down.
In an Indian home, money isn’t only in the bank. It is lent to a cousin, kept as gold in the cupboard, sitting in an office kitty or a chit fund, given as shagun at weddings. Each of these has its own place here — a lending register, gold and silver, committee instalments, shagun given and received, and even the monthly milk, newspaper and house-help account.
Where the important papers are and who at home knows. Whether every account and policy has a nominee. And a page called “If something happens to me” — so nobody has to run around on a hard day. There is deliberately no space anywhere for a full account number, a PIN or a password.
Each month’s four numbers — in, out, saved, loans due — come together on one page at the year’s end. Then a page to compare with last year. In your first year that column stays empty; next year, this book’s numbers become ‘last year’.
There is no investment, insurance or tax advice in this book. In its own words: “This book is for writing your own plan — not investment, insurance or tax advice.”
